How to play brick breaker
Move the paddle along the bottom of the screen and keep the ball in play. Every brick the ball touches cracks or breaks and adds to your score. Clear all breakable bricks to finish the level. If the ball falls past the paddle you lose a life; lose them all and the run is over.
On a phone or tablet, drag your finger anywhere on the board and the paddle follows. On a computer, move the mouse or use the arrow keys or A and D. Tap the board or press Space to launch the ball, and press P to pause.
Aiming the ball
Where the ball hits the paddle decides its angle. A hit near the centre sends it almost straight up; a hit near either edge sends it out at a sharp angle. Use the edges to reach bricks in the corners and to slip the ball behind a wall of bricks, where it can bounce around and break many at once.
Power-ups
Some bricks drop a capsule when they break. Catch it with the paddle: a wide paddle makes saves easier, slow-motion calms the ball for a while, multi-ball splits it so you clear rows faster, and a heart gives an extra life. Missed capsules are simply lost, so do not chase one if it means dropping the ball.
Levels and difficulty
Each level has a new layout and the ball starts a little faster. Later levels add tougher bricks that need several hits, and grey steel bricks that cannot be broken at all; you only need to clear the breakable ones. Your best score is saved only in your browser, so you can come back and try to beat it any time, even offline.
Tips
Stay near the middle when the ball is high, so you are never far from it. Watch the ball, not the paddle. When only a few bricks remain, aim with the paddle edges instead of waiting for lucky bounces.
